Link filled up the
and
slots. I tried to fill up the 6cc slot, but failed, instead taking up

with Metabolize Thoughts.
For Challenge # 038. I was originally working on a card for the 6 casting cost slot, since we had none, and came up with this. Unfortunately, Spelljack is just better at doing what it does, so I shifted it down to the rather restrictive

slot. It's very good, but will only be s effective against cheap spells... which is an awkward problem for the spellcaster. It would be much easier for the blue wizard to take out Lightning Bolt with a cheap spell... not an expensive one...
Hmm... I don't know Camruth. Artifact Blast seems fair at
. Not being able to effect the spell after it's been cast is a big drawback... in most scenarios, I'd rather pack Natural End in my deck. The casting cost seems fair to me.
Knowledge Pool and Mindslaver. Oh, Mindslaver... you make so many cards relevant...
Though this would be fun with Knowledge Pool alone. "Oh, come on. I know you want to counter that spell..."
Reminds me of (though very different from) the simultaneous submissions in the Great Designer Search: 'Boon-Dongle' and 'Oh My God!'. For reference, Boon-Dongle looked like this:
Boon-doggle (Rare)
Instant
Gain 3 life or prevent 3 damage from being dealt to a single target!
Add 3 black mana to your mana pool.
Boon-doggle deals three damage to one target.
Target creature gains +3/+3 until end of turn.
Oh, and by the way, draw 3 cards of force opponent to draw three cards.
When I went searching for this card, I googled up "Magic the Gathering boons Oh My God", I got back "Boobs at The Gathering of Juggalos! [NSFW]". Oh, internet, you so crazy.
Tribalace
Instant
Target spell or permanent becomes Tribal in addition to its types and becomes the creature type of your choice.
There. Now you've got a classic combo.
I made Oppress.
For Challenge # 038.
Added (((Denying Winds))) for

Inspired by L2i0n0k7's Deny the Unnatural to explore green counterspells
I don't see this as out of colour pie at all, green has lots of destroy artifact/enchantment cards so a hard counter - which is just destroying them before they hit the battlefield - isn't that much of a stretch. That said, the life gain is probably what pushes this over the top. I could see the hard counter at

(or even
) but it would need to cost more for the lifegain.
Green counterspelling can work, it's just not anywhere near as efficient as in some other colours.
I made Deny the Unnatural, which costs

and is probably too much of a color pie stretch to be printed.
For Challenge # 038.
Oh. I made Grave Denial and forgot to list it here.
Hee. An X spell in the vein of Engineered Explosives, where X is just a vehicle to let you spend as much as you like.
Hmm. Slightly tricky to word it properly: it'd probably need two abilities:
> When ~ ETBs, counter all spells with CMC X.
> Whenever a player casts a spell with CMC X, counter it.
Still, quite a sensible tweak on Chalice of the Void.
For Challenge # 038 : (((Cancel (Not the time spiral one))))
Enduring Denial might have been a better name.
Trumps Force Spike...
An interesting take on the charms though.
Finally managed to submit Adaptive Denial at
