@Link, I'd consider doing that, but green is already the color with a counter matter theme (both Leadership and Seek Fate involve fate counters on creature and are in green), so I'm not sure it would actually help.
@Dude: I'm actually having second thoughts about the specifics of that activated ability because it seems like it's ripe to interfere with leech, which is "until your next upkeep"...
I think the "ueot" is supposed to apply to the whole ability. I suggest "Until end of turn, target creature ... +2/+2."
Edit: Oh, the triggered ability also has this issue. At least put a marker on the creature as a reminder, a la divinity counters.
I don't think that feeling "too close" to another card is a bad thing. It's significantly different.
For five mana, should his triggered ability say "another target creature?" And for that matter, should it have a duration? I would worry about the memory issues otherwise.
I do love that he casts Consume Strength.
Yes. I realized I had three different legends with card drawing as part of their shtick XD. Maybe it should limit to class of spells...
Novijen Sage was exactly what I lofted the concept of. On point regarding the too-small size. Fixed.
Whee! Bring out the Shrieking Drakes, Stonecloakers and Sawtooth Loons! Fortunately Grinning Ignus doesn't do it unless you use Tidal Visionary or Painter's Servant.
Silly combos aside, this is still a very potent bounce engine. I assume that must be what you were going for?
Nice. Reminds me of Novijen Sages, or I guess Sage of Fables. 4 mana for a 2/2 seems undersized though.
The thing is at three cards/mana it feels (notwithstanding the fact rarity probably needs to go up) too close to Painful Truths.
Whoa. Yes. This is like Sign in Blood but more likely to draw you 3-4 cards.
Though I guess the one thing it can't do is draw you lands, which is sometimes what you need. I wouldn't cast this on turn 2 in most games, for example.
Even so, I think it needs to be at least 3 mana.
I agree. For the price you are paying this is a huge card. Even in the worst of circumstances, you are drawing one card for BR, and 3 life. While also discarding three lands into your graveyard, filtering them to enable you to draw other spells instead.
Uh; yeah. Kinda obviously worth the price. Almost certainly too good.
maybe A) I didn't want to redesign Nevermore and B) I wanted to cover precisely what nevermore doesn't.
Doesn't white get plain "Permanents of the given name cannot be cast"?
This used to be target creature gets +2/+2, but three common P/T boosts at common is a clear and bad idea, so I looked for some other that could keep the same CMC, though there's probably not much need for keeping the same CMC.
I do like how "orthogonal" it is to the rest of the colored spells. Serves to outline how Telengon spells are "alien" to Suvnica's denizens.
Uh; is this a complicated way to have one less card in your deck? Seems fairly marginal, though technically it will occasionally turn one green oanother colour for you to use on your third spell. So it's a storm enabler?
Or is the colour of mana added before you pay for the second spell? That would be useful sometimes.
