Right. I really wanted to capture the flavor of expanding cities. Since this set is really about control v swarm, both of which will want to be able to get any amount of bang for their buck, I think it fits quite well. Besides, the set does tend to push towards mono-colored, so I figured it's some pretty nice (if durdly) tech to have.
I think they would make a lot of sense in slower formats. Since the copies can also produce copies, these lands have some definite value, as long as they can make it out of the door.
Huh. So it gives you something to do with manaflood... that just gives you more mana flood. Curious.
Probably fairly playable anyway, in monocolour decks - the opportunity cost of an ETBT land is fairly low, and if you have no 4-drop then it lets you jump to 6. Particularly good in control decks that can leave mana up, then do this at EOT.
