Recent updates to Viruna, War of Eras: (Generated at 2024-05-17 11:26:55)
Changed to hit all opponents
Though the Soul's Fire in Gatherer has a full stop (period) at the end of the rules text. [/nitpick]
I think your missing the word "counter"
Consider changing to extort wording for extra multiplayer value
Perfect Reprint
Very nice anti dominance card. I like it.
Oooh I really like this, just hoping it isn't too strong with a board full of Emulate creatures. Would keep an eye on this during playtesting.
Interesting idea. I feel like that could bring it down to .
EDIT: On the other hand, Annul already sorta fills that role. If I had to choose, I'd probably make this cost instead.
Considering Totally Lost is the inability to target planeswalkers really worth a 1 mana reduction?
What about removing the creature targeting as you have a few enchantment/artifact creatures anyway so this would still be strong in the format.
That is what the name and creature type is a reference to :P
It's possible this is too good yes. It's here because I felt like the emulate deck might just get trampled on by a strong Dominance deck with a lot of early drops, but it's possible I'm overestimating that potential.
Be aware this is strictly better than Kraken Hatchling which is already really decent in limited and causal formats. Consider changed to 0/3 or making it 1U
I'm not entirely certain how that would interact with the second part of the card. If you have dominance, would you then only draw a card if they discard two?
This is actually copied directly from Gatherer, the original card was worded this way. The reason is that it opens the card up to being "countered" by removing the creature in response. If the card were not worded this way, it would deal the damage regardless.
It's possible that this should be a new card instead of a reprint, in which case the wording might change to remove that interaction.
It's possible, though I'm not sure "Eidolon" is plane-specific enough to warrant it.
"on the battlefield" wording is not required as any "creature" is on the battlefield otherwise it is a "creature card"
What about making an "if they do" effect so they need at least 1 card in hand to get the cantrip effect? As seems like a flavourful "brain drain" effect.
Maybe a functional reprint may be better as Eidolons are very specific to the Theros lore.
