Yeah. The only thing at common prior to Baleful Eidolon was Gift of the Deity, and that one requires a black creature. Otherwise, they've been uncommon or rare: Basilisk Collar, Bow of Nylea, Gorgon Flail, Quietus Spike
Rain of Rust was playable in limited, because it was Mirrodin block. Which isn't to say people were happy about playing it.
What I worry more about with this card is obsoleting Demolish. But it's probably still fine.

I think the cards are comparable in power, but since I feel stab wound is a bit too strong i guess this could cost 4.
