  I can't disagree, but often do see somewhat unusual effects on these kind of mechanics. Brainspoil or Crushing Pain come to mind. A corner case spell that can be turned into a Nessian Courser seems pretty damn good in any case.

  But a "creature with a built-in spell" (whatever that's supposed to mean amongst all activated/triggered/ETB abilities) is at best commonplace and not exactly the first thing that pops into your head when you think Izzet, is it?

  The parasitism is intended for the same reason I mentioned elsewhere in response to your comment: encouraging guild-based decks over 3 colors.
