im wondering with all of the sets from Mirroden to present if a second timespiral set wouldn't be mostly gold cards and colorless cards, with the shards, the guilds hybrid set, Eldrazi, 2 mirroden blocks, the land set....only Lorwyn block wasn;t about cards being multiple colors or no colors at all.

i may need to re-do the skeleton!

This stage of design does have a lot of multicolor cards. They're in every set now, it seems.

We do seem to be alternating gold and colourless, that's true. I think with cross-block design, Wizards try to include more-than-baseline amounts of gold cards in the blocks before a gold block (Innistrad) and after a gold block (Theros). I think if we manage a set without a multicolour theme three years running, then the central set of those three would have minimal to no gold cards.
