When you get enough things on the board, you might cash them in to Devour. This idea is hoping that you'll keep hitting people, and then later consolidate your forces.
I wanted to give it trample, but it appears as though only one creature with Devour has trample. I wonder why, and want to puzzle that out before just slapping trample on here. Feels like it might want something more, or maybe just reducing the cost.
It makes more of itself, but maybe that's a bad thing. Trying to use the Make A Little Me mechanic as somewhat of a draw back. When you make your first copy, you'll start losing more life each turn, and they're tapped so you can' t immediately block with them to be done with it.
I'm underwhelmed by the upside of this downside having creature be 3/4 Menace for 2. I'm starting here because this feels like the baseline of this design, and it'll want to curve around to get to what it really wants to be.
Flying army in a can! The hope is that you connect with this, and can pay to ping your opponents. The next one to come down, you get two pings.
This is meant to be very gated by the mana you have to spend, not a free addition.
It may be too much to give this Flying at one cost and this ability.
The little guy is the same size as the main creature, because they both get counters. I feel like it's cute to figure out how to best use the counter-moving-around element. Maybe it's too much complexity for little gain?
Not sure if the route to take is "more survivable/less power" or "more power/less survivable".
It feels like white would be able to do this. Unsure about the "other" wording; without it the first token is a 2/1, with it the first token is a 3/1.
Can this have first strike?
The little copy is a 1/1, so this demonstrates what might be doable with a large creature. The little one's deathtouch is still useful.
Not sure how much to cost this. I want the p/t to be big to demonstrate the difference between the original and the tokens, and the deathtouch becomes more pronounced on the little thing.
Is the mechanic of "Make A Little Me" simple enough to be found on commons, here? I guess we quickly get in to "pennies on dimes", eh?
Mana value up to 5, bump p/t up to 2/4, rarity to uncommon
Muse Drake is a
1/3 Flying ETB Draw a card.
Does using the additional
make this fair? This can possibly be an additional card each turn, with immediate value.
The created token will draw a card, and be a flying 1/1. The copy doesn't make additional copies, so it's mostly to gum up the board or to have an additional little attacker.
Maybe this has to be more expensive to be balanced? Does this say "rare" to you in terms of complexity?
The triggered ability creates a 1/1, so it seems like it'd be a good idea to have a design for this mechanic that starts as 1/1 even while nontoken. The additional tokens get value by way of the static attacking ability.
Possibly too pushed to add Menace to this.
Works maybe too-well with multiple copies. Having two of these going is much better than one.
Still feels like this kind of "ooze kindred buff" fits this mechanic. Does this need any kind of evasion?
The wording might need work, but I'm not sure that's the change I want to make here. Consider having a creature that makes the defending player lose a life when they attack; I want Moth here to still get buffed if the life loss happens after attackers are declared.
I think you're right! I'll swap that out. It's slightly different, keeping the cards not played in exile, but the elegance seems worth it.
