Throwback to Armistice from the original Envertol.
I wanted a one-drop white uncommon creature. I didn't have any set effect in mind, so I figured trying to homage mechanic from the plane's first use was a valid design. +1/+1 counter felt like the natural way to go. Because there could be times when that's backbreaking, I decided to let the opponent choose. I realize that white doesn't typically ramp, but I also don't expect the opponent to choose that often (unless the opponent is playing Getting Rusty), whereas tutoring a Plains to hand repeatedly can thin the deck too much.
fixed typo and included what happens to the other revealed cards. Thinking two white creatures might be a break and considering "two white permanent cards with a mana value of three" or less instead.
Unsure what to cost this
Should it be "When[ever] you cast ~ from exile"?
Added the Treasure text and moved placement of text. "When you sacrifice ~ for mana" probably isn't the correct wording.
toughness reduced to 3
Thank you SecretInfiltrator!
Chromatic Star is how the fixed the issue introduced on Chromatic Sphere.
I personally like: "Add two mana of any color. When you do, draw a card." or "Add two mana of any color. When you activate this ability, draw a card."
It most closely resembles the original intent.
Could I go to "
-Sac: Add two mana... Target player draws a card."?
Please do not draw cards as a mana ability. Target player, or make the cantrip a death trigger
That's true, but with the scry trigger, I didn't want this creature to be on the offensive.
I feel like wotc is willing to not give 0 power creatures defender a lot these days. A lot of the 0 power creatures in standard explicitly have ways to buff
