Why don't you make it add to your mana pool, but give it some other draw back, that way, it is different in function than Urborg Volcano or some of the others. It would be similar to Graven Cairns. Perhaps a pain land?
Functionally no, it is no different from Urborg Volcano but when has that ever stopped WOTC ? Grissly Bears, Runeclaw Bears, etc They have a long history of Functional reprints (same card, new name)
Yeah I know all the arguments against but it just looks/feels cool to me - have hybrid symbols everywhere else why not like this? As to Salt Marsh being obsoleted lots, so what? If a design fits the set then use it (provided it isn't broken). :-)
It's okay by the rules, but only if you know what the rules are, and there's not much point to it since the mana in your pool is never hybrid anyway. (The decision for what color it is has to be made at compile-time, not run-time, so to speak. This goes against what the reminder text seems to suggest.)
Also, Salt Marsh has been obsoleted 9 times. I remember this because I play all ten in a highlander deck.
what? like
,
: Add
make it a 1 for 2 filter land so you tap 2 land, get 2 mana ???
Which would make it closer to Shadowblood Ridge

Just a thought.
