Hey, at least Frost Marsh was a snow land.

This is just Salt Marsh. (Which has been obsoleted about 6 times by now, but that doesn't mean it's not a fair reprint.)

updated this cycle to generate hybrid mana - don't know if that's OK in the rules but I don't see why it shouldn't be.

It's okay by the rules, but only if you know what the rules are, and there's not much point to it since the mana in your pool is never hybrid anyway. (The decision for what color it is has to be made at compile-time, not run-time, so to speak. This goes against what the reminder text seems to suggest.)

Also, Salt Marsh has been obsoleted 9 times. I remember this because I play all ten in a highlander deck.

Yeah I know all the arguments against but it just looks/feels cool to me - have hybrid symbols everywhere else why not like this? As to Salt Marsh being obsoleted lots, so what? If a design fits the set then use it (provided it isn't broken). :-)
