You can either copy a creature for its abilities or, copy one for its CMC to use this to fetch a creature with that CMC from your Library

Basically a slightly harder to cast & use 2nd ability Clone.

I don't think this works the way you want it to--or it doesn't work clearly.

Transmute has you discarding a card, and you can't discard a card that's on the battlefield.

The ability you want is Transfigure.

Fixed it up, you can either play it as a Clone or Transmute it if there is noting worthwhile copying which was the original intent.
