I was originally going to caller this Trollhammer, until I remembered there are no trolls on Onar. Now it's a Beetles' reference I guess.
Honestly, animal creature types just feel more and more arbitrary every time I see a new one, by which I mean I was originally going to make this a shark, which is just a type of cartilaginous fish. If rays, also cartilaginous fish, are just fish, there's no way that a shark should have its own creature type.
So anyway, I just didn't feel this was a very sharky effect. I wondered about merfolk, but really didn't want this to be Merfolk Loooter #2 even in creature type, so I went for an animal type. Seal seemed to fit better, but would pinniped be the better name for the creature type?
Wheee! That is quite a bomby card. Huge swing if it lives: attack for 14 flying vigilance and gain 14 life! But it's a 7-mana rare creature without haste, and it does die to Doom Blade, so it might not be overpowered? Might be more suited to mythic though. Reminds me of Zetalpa, Primal Dawn (which is much smaller and doesn't lifelink but is invulnerable to most removal).
Added flying to the keywords, reduced toughness to 7 to match other cards in the cycle
I realized I didn't have enough rare creatures, so I added some that had Apex. Blue actually had two non-legendary rare creatures already, so I skipped doing one for blue. Blue did have a rare 7/7 seven-drop with Apex at 4UUU, which I felt was the right color cost. To match up with Abyssal Archmage, I changed the cards I just made from

(or whatever appropriate color) to

(again, or whatever appropriate color)
target creature to "up to two target creatures"
