And there is a set! 254 cards. 101 commons, 85 uncommons, 53 rares, 15 mythics. 38 in each monocolour, 34 gold cards, 23 artifacts, 7 lands.

Now I try mocking up a few sealed pools, try deckbuilding from them, and see what emerges.

Initial sealed experiments are fun. At the moment, the density of common is a little bit skewed towards noncreatures so I need to tweak a few things to get the common creature count up a smidgen.

I had one pool that could have used Backup Supplies to awesome effect on Conclusive Evidence, Canterlot Banner, Licorice Lasso, two copies of Animated Fossil and a Salvaged Wreck in a blue-white-green artifacts deck, but I concluded the red-green ramp deck was better thanks to all the removal like Rainbow Laser, Dance-Off and 2xCaber Toss.

Meanwhile I tried another pool, which admits some variations of WUB Sacrifice (using 2x Piecake Eating, 2x Aven Operative, 3x Royal Detectives, Conclusive Evidence, Welcome to the Show, and Cupcake Fountain Expedition), but also has a rather terrifying-looking mainly-red-some-blue aggro deck: the blue provides 2x Telekinetic Arrester and a Contact Telepath, which are good with Electric Rainboom but also necessary as early/cheap Humans to enable the 2x Transformed Courser -- the pool's red early creatures include Hamster Roughrider, Eager Troublemaker and 2x Surly Hound, which are mostly not Humans!

Project to increase common creature count done for the moment. {w} lost Cure-All Ointment and gained Autolevitator (with Costume Coordinator changing rarity); {u} lost Caninize and gained Cryomancer Couple; {b} lost Shameless Strut and gained Snide Pupil; {r} lost Drummer’s Instincts and gained Dog Burglar; {g} lost Forage and gained Road Blockers; and gold lost “Monday Blues” and gained Scarred Crab (with “Welcome to the Show” changing rarity), and Quarreling Creators and Caber Toss swapped rarity too.

With those edits done, my Creatures As-Fan is 7.16, a good step up from earlier, and in particular it's now at least a little higher than the Noncreatures As-Fan of 6.84. (At least in 2010, sets had about 50% of their commons being creatures.)

Since Vitenka mentioned it earlier, I also calculated the As-Fan of Songs and Bands. It's a pity to have effectively cut a common Song by cutting “Monday Blues” and promoting “Welcome to the Show” to uncommon, but they're still basically at parity:

Songs: 7c 10u 6r 1m; As-Fan: 1.1437
Bands: 9c 5u 3r 2m; As-Fan: 1.1497

So some sealed pools will have 7 Songs and 3 Bands, some will have 8 Bands and 2 Songs, but you can expect typically 6 of each. Not necessarily in the same colours as each other, of course.

I love that you provide decklists. I'm a sucker for preconstructed decks and love using them to get a feel for themes "as intended" before diving into the full possibility of assembling a custom deck.

I would suggest providing a decklist using the links with hover card images (possibly in addition to the images at the top of the page), so the reader has a better overview of the deck as a whole (and can still look at all cards nevertheless, but without scrolling).

Great suggestion: thanks. I'll do that.
