The flying is granted by the fact the card is blue. Those colors grant the +X/+X, which isn't blue at all. For example, Tasigur, the Golden Fang has a activated ability that can return any nonland card from your graveyard to your hand, which can't be blue. It is "helped" by the fact the card itself is already black.
