Uncover: PARAM1, Exile ~ from your graveyard: Draw a card. Used on 20 cards: Blinding Realization, Purge Evil, Inspect the Carvings, Repellant Seal, Inscribed Scarab, Conceal in Mist, Outwit, Fearless Advance, Incoherent Rant, Backdraft, Search for Meaning, Petrified Grove, Submerged Crypt, Stony Marsh, Shallow Clearing, Weathered Carvings, Overgrown Courtyard, Naktamun in Ruins, Rebounding Shock, Spell Reflection

Gravecycling. Supports the oops all spells, self mill and discard decks. Helps cards that have incidental or less impactful effects play better.

Salvage: When a creature enters the battlefield, if this card is in the graveyard, you may pay PARAM1 and exile ~ bound to that creature. Used on 11 cards: Flitwing Dragonfly, Undercurrent Glider, Fungal Crawler, Bloom Viper, Hammerskull Iguana, Burrowing Leeches, Shimmercloak Wisp, Razorscale Gharial, Brambles of Paradise, Hoarding Mauler, Stormstream Leviathan

Salvage is the creature counterpart of disentomb. Helps sac, self-mill and discard decks get more value out of their creatures by having permanent effects trigger off their salvage creatures. Currently a UG mechanic.

Diurnal: As this permanent enters the battlefield, choose Day or Night as the time of day. Each player shares the time of day. Used on 20 cards: Vanguard Angel, Watchful Sharpclaw, Airbourne Raidleader, Prowling Cat, Deadeye Hollow, Screeching Rats, Carnivorous Drake, Squinting Zombie, Desert Tracker, Mistress of Poisons, Shrouded Witchdoctor, Runewing Drake, Spiteful Initiate, Stargazing Mastodon, Giant Grub, Patient Webspinner, Campground Keeper, Magmatic Reveler, Menacing Sabertooth, Mitotic Symbiote

Diurnal gives a modal body and sometimes abilities to creatures. The flexibility of functionally having two bodies is balanced by how dynamic the time of day changes. As a rule of thumb, Day promotes more aggressive bodies and abilities and Night is more defensive. Night, design-wise, also bleeds black a little bit so even though Diurnal is in all the colors, the night side might feel black.

Undying: When a creature with Undying dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it. Used on 17 cards: Feline Companion, Shambler of Remedies, Renowned Duelist, Playful Tabby, Deadeye Hollow, Plaguebearer Ox, Resurrected Weaponsmith, Stitched Torso, Budding Corpse, Scavenging Serpopard, Corpsetender Druid, Eclectic Slime, Hissing Longleg, Burial Chamber Watch, Spectral Tiger, Charflinger, Ruin Sovereign

Undying returns in Ruins of Amonkhet because flavorfully, zombies are a thing, undying supports the sacrifice theme better than doomed dissenter designs and counters play pretty well. Undying was a pretty aggro mechanic so the hope is that the spell based control/tempo decks can keep up.

In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
