Well, not counting the issue of commonality, this seems pretty good to me. I'd even say you might be able to cut the activation by , if you wanted.

Ouchie. A hexproof mana elf is pretty darn good on its own.

A mana-bear (2/2 tap for mana) is interesting too. Still shockable, but might get used as a blocker sometimes.
