I think this would be a good spell at four mana. I could see a CCDD cost like is currently all the rage in GRN.
Rewriting fate, huh? How about "Exile your hand, then tutor seven cards to your hand." Suddenly you have the answers to change the outcome of the game...
With this color choice certainly legitimate if the other abilities are more about keeping yourself alive (life gain?) and Opposition the opponent.

The effects are weirdly disjointed. The strength of Lightning Helix as a design was that the effects were straightforward and joined by there common numerical value: 3 life for 3 damage.
I'm unclear on whhy this isn't worded like Lightning Helix. It seems grandfathered in from previous versions, but also just to avoid losing the life gain when there is no longer a valid target for the burn?
Was the damage amount previously tied to the life gain? Right now thiis could be:
> ~ deals 2 damage to any target. You gain 4 life.
Have you considerd scaling this up to Warleader's Helix?
Why woul Gaea be this big thing you don't need to spend green mana on? I don't think this is the correct place to use hybrid mana.
I think blue-black is the right spot since blue is more strongly connected to confiscating other players' toys than white is.
Flash could work as the keyword ability.
I never quite got the idea behind the "Phyrexian" creature type. Isn't it just as apt to give something the creature type "Zendikari" or "Dominarian"?
Did you mean "or greater"? The "or less neither fits the judgment nor is it a rider commonly associated with white spot removal.
Converge and landcycling is a cool combination.
Did you ever think about making three individual card sets for the three sets in the block? Consider how easy it is these days to move cards between sets and how messy the skeleton looks right now.
I'm really looking forward to checking this out further. I like remakes and revisits and Invasion block is one of the big ones since everyone loves gold multicolor. :)

I think the "awkward" is refering to the fact that they are so similar. You have a limited number of black-red slots. Do you really want to use them on two spells that can be mixed up so easily?
Because this a set that rewards you for playing +3 colours. So the cycling is to help you if you get the wrong colours. All the cycling costs in this set are supposed to be either 2 generic or a hybrid mana to help you cycle them away if you get the wrong lands.
Kinda feels to me like it would be somewhat rare for you to want to cycle this - more so than any existing cycling card I can recall.
It the common destruction spells defence it also targets land is instant speed. Having common removal be lowered powered is true for most sense but at least it isn't strictly worse.

Why is it a rare? As far as I know, Dreadbore / Hero's Downfall are mainly rare because they refer and destroy planeswalkers.
This looks awkward alongside 'Destruction Spell'.
