I don't think colourless artifacts are needed to make a multicolour deck viable. What you need to make multicolour decks viable is good manafixing and nonbasic lands. Remember the Shadowmoor-era Standard decks that played Cruel Ultimatum and Cloudthresher in the same decks, thanks to Reflecting Pool and Vivid lands? Tournament players naturally gravitate to the most colours they can stably include, and that's based on good nonbasic lands, not lots of colourless artifacts.

Replying to Alex:

I was unclear and have edited the summary. What I meant was playing +3 colours in limited. (In constructed lands are the only actual limitation.)

Colorless artifacts are supposed to enable limited players in limited to splash a third/fourth/fifth colour by enabling heavy artifact decks which are less effected by drawing lands of the wrong color.

Did you ever think about making three individual card sets for the three sets in the block? Consider how easy it is these days to move cards between sets and how messy the skeleton looks right now.

I'm really looking forward to checking this out further. I like remakes and revisits and Invasion block is one of the big ones since everyone loves gold multicolor. :)
