Its just a punny name, guys. Jeeze :P
"I think people have generally accepted using the guild names in place of just saying the combined dual colors"
Maybe some people have :P Others of us find it bizarre and offputting. I know this is one of the standard names for the ship, but it gives ridiculously wrong associations of Borborygmos and Scab-Clan Mauler to something that's meant to be sweet and romantic.
MaRo certainly believes people do that. Slightly annoying for those of us that skipped raviniwhatsit though.
Ragarding the card - search for two combo pieces for only 4 mana? Kinda efficient.
+5 pun points for the name.
Alex, I think people have generally accepted using the guild names in place of just saying the combined dual colors, regardless if the card or deck captures guild flavor or not.
I think the Chandra/Nissa ship is rather cute, but I really don't like this name for it (though I know you're not the one who came up with it). Neither Chandra nor Nissa has much in common with the Gruul, the destructive unthinking goblins and brainless orcs of Ravnica. Just like many factions don't have much in common with the Azorius, Ravnica's oppressively bureaucratic lawmages, so is not the same thing as Gruul, most clearly demonstrated by this. I don't think Nissa would approve of the destruction the Gruul cause - she'd have much more alignment with the Selesnya's elemental communes; which is not saying anything about her relationship with Chandra or Gideon.
Ooh, did I miss basic landcycling? Looks like I did. Sorry about that.
