it is a not a mana maker, it's a mana filter, and it can only be used for virtual spells. It's a very VERY limited card in scope.

Well, you can choose to put your commander in your graveyard, then exile it. The ability looks at the action of exiling it.

Blue can't get direct damage. Also, I don't think the two abilities synergize as well as you'd like, since the second ability doesn't apply until after the creatures have been dealt damage, so you can't try to kill them with the first.

Blue is only supposed to make colorless mana or have a restriction that it can only be spent on colorless/artifact things.

I don't think the Commander thing works, because then the "if you do" is false. If it was "when ~ dies, exile it. You may cast..." then it would.
