If Pirates are Jund colors (which include black), then there is nothing speaking against changing the mana cost of this to {2} {b} {b} .

Considering this is a common flier, this card does not fit in with other green cards, so the current cost of {2} {g} {g} is questionable.

These card's abilities though would fit onto a black card nicely - both flying and wither are definitely black abilities.

So changing the cost from {2} {g} {g} to {2} {b} {b} seems like the quick fix to move the card into a color more appropriate for its abilities.
