Oh the humanity - what have you done WotC? What have you done?!

I would add "... (dealt to artifacts) this way" in there.

FWIW, this is the way I WANT it to work, but I think what wizards actually did is that "any target" means creature/player/planeswalker and nothing else.

I know, but this update is just so gloriously messy

> "~ deals 2 damage to any noncreature target. (Noncreature targets are planeswalkers and players... at least when we're dealing damage only.)"

> "~ deals 3 damage to any nonplayer target, then destroy that target. (Nonplayer targets are creatures and planeswalkers.)"

> "Destroy any target?"

> "Any target draws two cards??"

Yeah, let's just make all effects with targets say "any target" and have them be context dependent. Brilliant!

Target assembles a contraption :)
Which brings up a side rant - Maro went on and on about how proud he was about finding a way to do assembly where it mattered that creatures did it rather than the players. And then; uh, it didn't? At all?

"Any target assembles a contraption" would be a meta-joke on a whole another level. Maybe add a card with that text as well here?

And yeah, creatures doing that assembling doesn't matter at all. It isn't a special action only creatures can perform and many cards like Cogmentor and Spell Suck were made to pronounce that fact.

That whole set was really a concession IMO; it felt like it was full of mechanics that had been given up on, a graveyard of abandoned design ideas if you will (even frenzy). I personally found it a bit disheartening in that way. I mean, there are multiple unset stuff that has made it to black border before so perhaps I'm being too somber here.
