Deathtouch + first strike is one of those really strong combinations that you really cannot put at common - unless you hide half of it behind a further cost or condition.

you're right. Ideas to do what I need to that you said (sorry said that weird)

Simplest options: Remove first strike. Remove death touch. Make rare. Make it so that it only has those abilities if you do (insert thing your set cares about here).

Any of those would fix this; but knowing what is best depends on the rationalisation behind the card. From the flavour text - the deathtouch needs to be there. The 'something worse' isn't represented.

So how about these abilities paired together:

Deathtouch. When ~ deals combat damage to a player, they discard a card.

Although that is also a really nasty combination (doomed if you do, doomed if you don't); and likely needs to be higher rarity than common too.

A lower toughness might help, slightly. Makes it easer for direct damage to get rid of it.

This seems to be just exactly Voracious Cobra. Except at common, which is as stated definitely a no-no.

Some possible variations:

"First strike. // As long as ~ is attacking, it has deathtouch." (or vice versa)

"Deathtouch. // {3}{r}: ~ gains first strike UEOT." (Pestilent Kathari; could also be vice versa on a red card)

"Deathtouch. // Whenever you cast a [set-relevant type of] card, ~ gains first strike UEOT." (or vice versa)

Nice thanks guys! This really helps me, I will edit it with something like these <3

Nitpicking on the wording:

> Whenever you cast a Snake (creature) spell, ~ gains first strike UEOT.

"Another" isn't really necessary here (Arjun, the Shifting Flame).

Whether the spell being creature is specified might matter for tribal spells or whathaveyou (Nameless Inversion).

kaykay :D

little edit because i wanna keep it common

Oh excellent! A lot of designers end up creating a "Deathtouch+First Strike" card. Subsequently, a lot of other designers usually end up chiming in that there's a reason Wizards rarely does that.

Most designers end up trashing the card, or sticking by their guns when that happens. But you chose to create an occasional toggle for the first strike, and flavorfully tied it to Snake tribal. That's a good hack!

I'd just like to point out that sometimes snakes like Ambush Viper come with flash. I don't see that as a problem. >:)

thank you!
