Between Saber Ants and Safehold Elite, can the token be 1/1 Saproling?

I would be wary of that change unless you also change the damage to "combat damage", or change his toughness to 1. Otherwise, this can combine with a pinger far too well.

I think I'm with SadisticMystic on this one. Short of dedicating your own pinger to making chumps instead of dealing damage, this guy is rarely going to make more than one token, maybe two. That said, yeah, I can justify a 1/1 saproling there.

Having some goofy interactions like using a pinger on a creature like this to generate lots of tokens is always fun in limited. I can't think of any similar card interactions that have been in recent sets but there's alot of them.
