Another basic artifact idea, this time using cycling. And I had thought we had talked about maybe having a little bit of nonbasic landcycling. So this card is the first one I'm trying it with.
Added to skeleton. This card is a first shot at using nonbasic landcycling.
Pretty cool, although nonbasic landcycling is a very strong ability.
If it's considered too powerful for this I'd change it to normal landcycling, making it more similar to Uncharted Territory.
Maybe nonbasic landcycling is best for uncommons and up?
A better Manalith doesn't seem appropriate at common.
An alternative for consideration:
Artifact
: Add
to your mana pool.
,
: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
Nonbasic landcycling
I forgot what card I saw, but I could have sworn there is a card or two that does what Manalith does + an extra minor perk, at common.
Either way, your idea is possible too. It might be better balanced if anything because of the power of nonbasic landcycling.
Changed to DJK's suggestion.
Commander's Sphere and Darksteel Ingot are the closest things to that, but CS is a commander card so isn't balanced in the same way, and Darksteel Ingot was only printed at common in a normal set in Darksteel, which was not a particularly balanced set, and only has indestructible as an advantage, which seems significantly weaker than nonbasic landcycling.
Changed to basic landcycling.
Placed in competing spot on the skeleton
