I think this seems a bit weak for a rare, maybe move it down to uncommon? I kind of dont want to do too many multicolor cards of the same color combination.

Agreed about not wanting to do too much multicolor of the same colors, its just that I feel this land control theme fits RG best, so I posted the few card ideas I had for those colors.

My reasoning for this being rare is comparing it to Wellspring, which is a weak and unpopular rare with a similar ability. This costs 1 less and is on a body, and has the variability of letting you choose a diff land each turn.

I could see the argument that it could be moved to uncommon though.

Changed to uncommon.

If this card is added to the set it devalues Horizon Canopy and co. since it becomes repeated LD with cantrip.

I can agree with that, plus I'd rather have a discovery card in this slot. I get this is suppose to increase your discovery for one turn but it might just be more obvious what {r/g}s theme is if this was a discovery card.

That's a fair point. Maybe this could be changed such that instead of being an activated ability, the ability triggers when your discovery increases? Just trying to figure if this could be both a "gain control of land" thing and a Discovery card.

I think its more of the fact that you can take your opponents cantrip lands and sac them yourself, repeatably.

Yea I can understand that objection in the context of this set, given the cycle of cantrip lands.

Then we need some other interesting way to represent Discovery in both its primary colors here.

I would also note that this means the minor archetype in {r}{g} of controlling lands will have no representation now.

Its not that we cant have cards that take control of lands, but if they're repeatable effects then it literally discourages people from playing any of the lands in the set.

That card is too good for an UC, especially since it doesn't specify which land you can take control of. You could for example take control of your land that enters the battlefield tapped to untap it, or untap a land you just used etc.

If {r}{g} is the discovery archetype I don't think we need a minor theme of controlling lands. Discovery can already be complicated, it doesn't need control shenanigans.

The most extreme this could get away with is ETB trigger condition, I think.

The funny thing is that this was originally a rare and I was told to make it an uncommon because it was too weak as a rare. In either case, we've basically decided to replace the card anyway.
