Stylish. I can see the Kamigawa-ness of having uncommon legends, but I'm not very keen on the double-double-coloured mana at uncommon. I'd save the GGWW costs for rare.

I think the wording can be simplified a little - "You may gain 1 life and put a +1/+1 counter on ~".

I like how this interacts with virtual but also with a bunch of other things. The 5-mana 1/1 starting stats are pretty painful though. Could it be something like 3/3 to begin with?
