Looks pretty similar to rebound (Virulent Swipe)?

actually, it was conceived as "unearth spells". While it does trigger after being cast like rebound, but also any other time it goes to the graveyard (hence why the second casting, unlike rebound's, needs to be paid for).

Oh, I see. Right, yes. That'd normally have "from anywhere" to make that a little clearer. Curious that you only get to cast it in the one turn after milling it (or casting it the first time).

I wanted to keep the mechanic as simple as possible. Mostly "the turn after" creates a slight parallel with rebound, but mandatory payment means we can use significantly better effects.

I can't have it exile and just wait. If we do that, this is just another Illuminate (a GDS mechanic that got a lot of flak). I don't think these effect (exiled cards that are essentially part of your hand) should be a named mechanic in general anyway.

Oh good point, this turns into illuminate if you're not restricted to one turn, doesn't it.
