Would making it "~ ETBs tapped unless you control a permanent you don't own" make it spicy enough to warrant the extra words?

Hm. "~ ETBs tapped unless you control a permanent you don't own" is a nice touch, but I think it's unnecessary, I think the card conveys the flavour perfectly as is, it doesn't need to do it twice.
And yes, this is very cool. A niche ability, but one that's just right in the right deck, and not a dead card because it's a land.
