This is my attempt at a mox for this "exile matters" set I've been working on. It's basically a cross of Meteor Crater, Chrome Mox and Mox Opal. But I'm not sure I've worded the death trigger correctly. Can someone confirm that for me or otherwise give me some advice?

Seems fine to me. And... yeah; ok, it's a pretty evil little artifact (It rapidly ends up being a mox utopia!) but you have to exile a bunch of stuff first, by which time you probably don't much care about this being cmc0 and not 1.

@Vitenka Well, I've made several cycles of creatures that exile themselves as a cost to activate an ability and there is a common cycle that's only 1 CMC. So it's possible to play this turn 1, play a 1 mana creature, exile it and then produce mana using the Soul Gem to play another 1 CMC card. Too good?

No, that sounds fine. You need to jump through a hoop or two, at which point it's similar to Mox Opal or Chrome Mox.
