For (((Challenge # 038)))
Counterspell/Land Destruction as an Aura. Hard counter to all spells they cast unless they sac the enchanted land (bringing in the LD)
Idea is that their link to the mana has been sabotaged.
Hmm... couldn't you have just destroyed the land for
nowadays, and gotten a bonus effect? That must be good enough for "Target land's controller sacrifices it." I'd say that maybe this spell should cost
less, but I already changed the cost of that spell, locking you out of it. :p
This probably could be

, however. It's a bit like a soft counter, and it's still more expensive, and has a less useful ability than Blight.
Fun. I agree this could be

.
I do see value in "Enchantment: Counter the next spell this player casts" Especially if you, I dunno, stick it onto a Rainbow Vale. But yeah, it's pretty much just "destroy target land, sometime later, after they've got the mana out" with some extra blue for no obvious advantage.
if you enchant the right land then it can be very good. Say they're playing
and only have 1 source of green mana - a forest. Drop this on said forest and they have to decide either not to play anything until they get another source of green mana or get rid of it and hope. They can't even Naturalize/Disenchant it without losing the land.
Yeah, but you could have just used Stone Rain and gotten rid of it, without giving them the option of making that choice. Which, sadly, would be strictly better though I agree less enjoyable.
I think I need to reference costlier cards nowadays, so at the new reduced cost, this is probably fine.
I don't really think we'll be seeing any cards like Stone Rain or Rain of Tears for a little while, since Land-Destruction decks, and even Ponza decks aren't very fun to play against. This is kind of strange, admittedly, where cards like Demolish are fine, but there is not fair casting cost for "Destory target land". There hasn't been a 3cc straight up LD spell in a while, so a situational LD spell at 3 seemes fine to me.
