Granting flanking at instant speed is problematic. People will want to do it after blockers are declared, even though that doesn't actually work.
I want each charm to offer the wedge's keyword as one of the abilities. What do you suggest?
Hmm. Perhaps first strike, as in Rally the Forces?
Oh, wait, you're saying that flanking is this wedge's keyword? Hmm. That's a problem. Sorcery-speed charms aren't fun (even though granting flanking UEOT is basically a sorcery-speed activity). Perhaps it can benefit creatures with flanking, like "Creatures you control with flanking get +2/+2 UEOT"?
What if it evoked flanking? "Blocking creatures get -1/-1 for each creature they are blocking." Then it's more of a combat trick, not a pre-combat trick.
That sounds good. Like the way Blades of Velis Vel etc didn't actually grant changeling to the targeted creatures due to layers issues.
That also allows you to avoid the hideous Flanking reminder text, which is a good thing considering how wordy charms are naturally.
