This is colourless removal! If you're playing limited, this is second pick if not first. I'm an idiot to not realise that!
But it's not actually overpowered, even in set - only about half the creatures are dwarves; and half the decks like opponents putting land in their graveyard.
The activated ability should probably still have
added to its cost.
(The second one. Adding
to the cost of the first one would just be silly.)
We compared this to Quicksand crossed with Rend Spirit.
Ah yes. The serious flavour is "Dwarf digs too deep, falls down a Hole and gets eaten by a grue.
The SILLY flavour is "A very shallow bed of quicksand. Only dwarves are at risk from it".
cost added. The sillyish way.
Actually, given how I've made it now - could it enter untapped?
Yes, I'd say so.
BTW, conventionally there's a comma between those symbols in activation costs. See e.g. Imperious Perfect or Graven Cairns.
Actually, this new version is really harsh. You can't even tap it for mana unless you have another source of
out!
Yup. Possibly to weak now, may play more.
While it is definitely rather weak, it's not just that. It's now a frustrating card in that you may draw it when you need a land, but can't tap it for mana without some other black. It doesn't even tap for colourless.
That's true. Reverting silliness.
