Is this impressive enough?

It's... odd. I don't think +5/+0 and lose defender is good enough for 7 mana of 3 colours, though; compare Titanic Ultimatum.

What if I also gave them first strike, and perhaps reduced it by one mana? Titanic Ultimatum can't be a combat trick, while this can.

First strike would make all the difference, yes.
