This could be changed to have flash if you wanted it in the combat trick slot.
removed from set skeleton
this either needs to go at the uncommon counterspell slot or we need to fit it into the new skeleton

Common Angel killer ad lifegain disabler
We have probably too much lifegain anyway so I've changed the lifelink to vigilance.
changed lifelink to vigilance, removed +2/+2 bonus and reduced cost from 3WW -> 1W
I agree. Just remove the +2/+2 seems fine.
I don't think this is particularly splashy. Maybe make it "Whenever you gain life," ?
I think the amount of life should be static. 2-3 life would feel appropriate. That's what you'll get most of the time but makes the card less board dependent.
edit: Variability is more the idea behind science, so the more certainty we have with our faith decks the better. Also works since Faith is about having a sense of certainty about the world.
I think this is just too swingy. Evasion + Lifelink is going to make this impossible to race. +2/+2 flying and becomes an angel is already a flavor win and while powerful wouldn't take over the game in 1 or 2 hits.
It's weird to place. It might also be an uncommon, but it could be an upgrade of any of a number of auras.
Call to Serve Mark of the Vampire Nimbus Wings
Another odd factoid is that there are only two 5 cmc common white auras. One of which Knightly Valor was just promoted to Uncommon.
It's a really odd target to hit.
As a conditional-lifegain on top of Celestial Flare, this looks okay at common to me, actually. It's a bit wordy (moreso with the extra blank line between the two paragraphs), but otherwise seems fine for common.
Wow, Gift of Orzhova++. Wouldn't be a common in a normal set, but I appreciate duel decks aren't quite a normal set.
It's fine for now. Just a silly thought. A better name may come along later. For now it's inoffensive.
Ixidor created Akroma. I also just created a near sounding name. Name can change if needed.
White does get to cause people to sacrifice attacking creatures. It's a conditional edict. Very conditional. And the difference between 1WW and 2W on a combat trick are quite large.
...Ixidor was a giant?
White doesn't get straight unconditional edict effects. The difference between 1WW and 2W isn't massive.
The comparisons aren't perfect, but they are certainly the closest that we can get as no other color has creature sacrifice.
Those are both black cards, have easier casting costs, and don't require an attacking creature.
This should probably do something other than just untapping.
When Foul-Tongue Invocation and Tribute to Hunger are uncommon, this has little chance of being common.
Though I'm open to suggestions for other designs to contest this slot
making it 4cmc and have the taxing be something other than mana seems like it should be different enough.
I like this one being cheaper. Taxing has more impact earlier in the game. However, I'm not sure making this cheaper is where we want to be since at that point were running awful close to Archangel of Tithes.
Changed bonus. Thoughts?
