not ALL that different to just saying 'spells and abilities your opponents control can't cause you to discard cards'. Not a super interesting ability for limited.
and yeah this one is especially crappy. Playing more than one spell in a turn is not super common as is in limited. But after paying 3 mana?
While this whole cycle is really cool, I think they will be close to unplayable. They give you a (smallish) advantage 1 or 2 turns down the line, probably a lot more given the 3 mana activation cost. Spend your turn 3 to not affect the board. Turn 4, also don't affect the board? I think you want to fit these somewhere else on the curve. Possibly at 1? And maybe require 5 charge counters and no mana?
Though I guess you miss out on potentially wacky interactions of enchanting one of their siphon creatures?
I don't think this is how this usually would be worded. Auras usually give the creatures themselves the ability? Kind of weird that the enchantment will be removing charge counters from the creature. I would just give the aura itself siphon, and let it gain the charge counters.
Siphon overhauled. Drawback mechanic -> charge counter based mechanic. Lots of variables to play with.
