By the time you cast this, assuming you go first, draw cards normally and play this on round four, then this represents 10 damage (7 cards in opening hand + 3 cards drawn. It doesn't matter where those cards end up, as long as they aren't exiled or tucked.) Add a Tome Scour and a Lightning Bolt to that opening hand, and you've dealt 20 damage. The fact that you can divide it any way you choose is just gravy.
Wow. That's quite a lot better than Goblin Bombardment. I suppose it's twice the price... Goblin Bombardment plus Harvest Pyre plus Seismic Assault... hm.
Hee. I like it. Reminds me of Countryside Crusher, but more explosive.
Hmm. The typical use case in a duel will be on your turn, though. At which point this is something like Banners Raised... or perhaps Stampede. My point is it'll normally not be worth 5 mana, and also normally not be an effect worthy of rare.
A single Anthem effect (or a Banners Raised effect) and this gets much better, of course. But how many of those are in the set? Master's Advantage and Hwasi, the Glyph-Maker, certainly, but they're rare as well (sensibly so). Invoked Conduit, definitely, though perhaps that should be rare, or at least uncommon. Providence Charm, Howl of the Sands or Outsmart work, but it's hard to cast those in the same turn as this... And this doesn't work with Warleader's Courier. So it looks like more often than not players will be frustrated trying to make this work in Limited. And it doesn't look like a Constructed card to me either.
the most powerful common in the set.
