Don't pick on Sorrow's wording too much. S/He likes designing cards but doesn't have the intimate knowledge of templating details that we do. With Sorrow's cards you have to read them as saying "DWIM".

I like the idea of this card. Should be "Whenever ~this~ becomes the target of a nonwhite spell an opponent controls, return ~this~ to your hand."

Strife's reminder text might be simpler if it says "If a creature has been put into a graveyard from the battlefield this turn, you may..."

I'm unconvinced by costs of the form {C}{C/D}{D}. It doesn't seem different enough from {C}{D}.
