Sadly, it's one of many images that just get credited as "pinterest". And yeah, it's a cat-taur.
But it's a big cat body instead of a horse
That looks like some kind of a centaur to me. Artist credit?
is a permissible order for a cycle. There've been sets where a white creature has a red activated ability, a red creature has a blue activated ability, etc (and no other colours).
Cycle is Order of Leitbur, (((Dwarven Lute-Knight))) / Order of the Crimson Peaks, (((Vodalian Knights))) / Order of Vodalia, (((Elvish Knight))) / Order of Thelon, Order of the Ebon Hand.
Currently in that order because I am a terrible person. Discussion on Order of Leitbur.

See Order of Leitbur.
So this is created from whole-cloth. Which is a shame. But it feels worse to leave an unfinished cycle.
And the obvious justificaiton for an elvish knight having reach is that they ride on giant spider. TIL that GIS doesn't honour quotes for "required to have this search term" Or maybe it thinks all elves are spiders?
"Spider elf" is amusing, but also not what I'm looking for. Merry Christmas to you too, spiderman.
I give up. How is that image "Spider archer"? It's a CAT. With a distinct lack of either bow or arrow. HOW.
See Order of Leitbur.
Deathtouch 2/2 for is actually probably ok? The lifelink isn't quite completely pointless, after all, you'll often not block it.
and, um, costs 2? Yeep, is this a bit too good even for rare, in blue?
So as discussed on Order of Leitbur I'm changing things up to make a cycle of knights. So this was 'always has flying and first strike' and now it is 'always had prowess, can jump'. Which is maybe ok?
Reach? It breaks the cycle, but it kinda makes as being like flying? Meh. (((Elvish Knight)))
Doing it.

The correct ordering for a cycle is , right? Right? Ugh. I am terrible at this.
going for the cycle
Ok, the flavour text fits with the name, but doens't fit on the card any more. Shame.
Dwarven Lieutenant
Given the cost; I'd say this can be the red knight.
And it's already firebreathing; prowess-stacking is LIKE firebreathing. So yes let's do this cycle!
The name puns itself (Was "Dwarven Lute-Knight"); and the flavourtext fits with it so well.
Dwarven Catapult
This is an interesting one. It can be realllly good. But only in the exact right combination of opponents cretaure and you having enough mana. Against a thallid swarm, it'll do no damage at all.
It's also way overpriced for the flexiility; compare to Pyroclasm. Is it worth it for the ability of being decent if there's only one target?
I think we'll change this from always dealing the damage evenly, to modal. Except "instant: deal x damage to target cretaure" is a perfectly solid card all on its own.
Bleh.
Maybe make it explicitly square? "Dela X damage to X target creatures"? That's kinda interesting. Let's go there. Red lfag for too much complexity even at uncommon :)
Allow it to hit players, I think? Makes the wording nice and short, which is good with that much flavourtext!
I'm thinking it'll probably be one ability always on, and one (the one you're secondary in) activated.
I agree that specific one is pretty terrble; though. Blame blue for not having a decent keyword.
Draconian Cylix
Well, isn't this a little bundle of joy. All your cards can become ", Instant, Regenerate target"
I think I'm reserving this slot for "Be something completely different, whatever hole it turns out the set needs filling"
For now, just make it "Unvulnerable UEOT" but yeuch. This set has enough problems with groundstall already!
An activated ability to gain prowess? That's not great, since prowess is the only evergreen keyword to stack
Wait; I misremembered. There are Vodalian Knights, true - but the 'red' knight I was thinking of, was actually River Merfolk which, just, no.
Still - maybe make the vodalian knights activated, and add an and a one? Doing that, they wouldn't all have to have exactly the same abilities; but it'd be nice to have a cycle. (So this and black both have lifelink, this and red both have first strike, etc.)
The blue one has flying and... well we hit the blue keyword curse; gotta be prowess instead of the current first strike...
This could work :)
Order of Leitbur
So here's an interesting little critter. A fire breathing white knight.
Gotta ditch prot black. Because that just aint a thing; and why do you care when you have first strike and as much power as you can afford?
But... white doesn't really do that kind of fire breath. And gotta remember the mirror Order of the Ebon Hand so whatever we do here, black gotta do too.
I hadn't previously noticed how much "Every colour can first strike" was a thing in this set.
You know what? Make this a more traditional 2/2 instead of fire breathing; and have the second ablity be life-link.
That feels reasonable, and the black mirror works with it fine. The first strike... well, knights can; we'll say it's just a thing this set does (and this set had and knights. No though; maybe we should fix that? Make it a cycle?)
Thrull Retainer
Oh, Hi there! You're the progenitor of 'Totem Armour'
The only problem with doing that is this set has keyword saturation. Oh, and Totem armor is supposed to be in , not .
Meh; no need to mess with how this card works. Just changhe 'regenerate' to 'indestructible ueot' and it's still a fairly decent card. Maybe go +2/+0 instead of +1/+1 though.
Heck, protection is just not a thing any more. Let's just give this blue's new keyword.
High Tide
Blue mana bump. Yeah. Howabout no. But on the flipside, this is one of the few FE cards that actually stands the test of time. Because it's horribly abusable to make infinite mana.
Which isn't really a GOOD reason to preserve as is.
The card is instant, suggetsing it's use is "You think I only have {some} land untapped and that's not enough to do anything; but hah! I have more!"
Except, um, this uses one blue, and you have a second island up (or it is useless) so you already had at least up? So you could already cast Counterspell so how is this a useful surprise? (I mean, ok, sometimes it is. Spell Blast is a thing...)
So mainly it gets used in your turn as "Ok, have 2(n-1) mana this turn". Which is, well, it's still pretty useful. But not really a blue thing to do.
Well, blue DOES get to modify lands... (maybe 'ueot all your lands are islands'?) but it certainly gets to modify spells. And I think just a slight variation, and ensuring it exiles to prevent ridiculous recursion, is probably the fix I want.
Does this NEED to be an instant? Is it too confusing as one? It has value at instant, but as discussed; not a huge amount. Make sorcery for simplification.
Should it cantrip? Hmm, gonna say no; but could be persuaded.
Ok; we'll give this the same ability as Elvish Hunter
So if I change what that does in set; I should change it here, too. And hey, they even keyworded it for me!
Elven Lyre got eaten by Elven Fortress. So I need something to go here.
I really don't want a toughness-breathing artifact. Yeeesh!
Maybe some kind of sleep-inducing equipment would fit the flavour?
Elven Fortress
So uh. Wow. Toughness breathing, on defence. As an enchantment. A perfectly good white... ok, green? Whut?
Why would green want to do this? G'damnit, the best Giant Growth in this set is Elven Lyre. This is SO messed up.
Give this that's ability. Opponents seeing it coming makes up for your not needing to keep the mana up; so also make it a proper growth.
And the FE elf flavour "Our wood must stay perfectly intact" covers why it's used once, rather than a permanent buff.
Conch Horn
So the original draws 2, puts a card back, and also taps before sacrificing. Not really sure why that last part is helpful?
This isn't quite "Scry 2, then draw a card" but... nearly.
And wow, that's just, terrible. Let's split the abilities up. Scry 2 until you see something you like, then go get it.
Much better. So much cleaner. A bit more effective, a reason to keep it around rather than use it at first chance you get. Doens't let you return an arbitrary card to the top of your deck but I think we can live without.
I wonder if this could be uncommon now? Probably not without also being blue.
