Vodalian Knights

I liked these back in the day. But yeah, overpriced. And first strike in blue - gets there because this is the blue knight, to go with the black and white ones.

Dropping islandhome and... yeah, let's leave the mysterious first strike.

Heh. Thunder Spirit -> Sky Spirit -> this :)

Not a fan of the first strike.

But leaving that aside... how is this not a Knight?

yeah, it really ought to be a knight

So as discussed on Order of Leitbur I'm changing things up to make a cycle of knights. So this was 'always has flying and first strike' and now it is 'always had prowess, can jump'. Which is maybe ok?

and, um, costs 2? Yeep, is this a bit too good even for rare, in blue?

Cycle is Order of Leitbur, (((Dwarven Lute-Knight))) / Order of the Crimson Peaks, (((Vodalian Knights))) / Order of Vodalia, (((Elvish Knight))) / Order of Thelon, Order of the Ebon Hand.

Currently in that order because I am a terrible person. Discussion on Order of Leitbur.

So shockingly this ended up closer to the original than my first attempt. Is it reasonable this way?

Rename "Order of something" to fit the cycle's naming convention. Looking up some lore; Vodalia was a military state anyway. So sure, they can have an order named after their empire.

Note - this is pushed for a blue creature. There are prowess creatures for {1}{u}, but they tend to be 2/1 with an upside. This has a weak upside (jump) but is being 2/2 fair for going from {1}{u} to {u}{u}? If anything, going rare and being bluer should make it tricksier, not meatier. Ah well.

There's precedent for {u}{u} getting 2/2s with upside. Originally it was Dimir Guildmage and friends - well, OK, originally it was Lord of Atlantis :) They've been followed by Grimoire Thief and Harbinger of the Tides.

The jump is certainly fine. Without prowess this would be fine for an uncommon. With it, I'm sure this is within the bounds of what could get printed at rare.
