changed so SecretInfilitrator's presentation of a red draw spell.
Changed to suggestion, thanks for the advice SI.
changed from 5/5 to 3/5, and ability useful only once each turn to prevent dumb alpha strike shenanagins.
no more Root Spider!
Something new altogether seems good.
Activation to Red seems fine.
Maybe a 0/1 to keep it as a common? Or 1R cost?
I disagree with the color on this. It would be sensible to make the activation cost at least red. But ignoring that...
Repeatable removal doesn't belong at common. This is as clear an uncommon as they get.
So similar cards... Strongkeep Guard.
So similar cards... Burly Kobold.
Serf is a creature type - maybe just put it on here?
The trigger condition with intervening if-clause and an extended time frame to look back onto is more than you should be comfortable with at common.
Also this card is weird in multiplayer.
I suggest taking Underpriest of the Order and mirror it with life loss... maybe: "At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, if a creature died last turn, that player loses 1 life."
Either way this should be uncommon.
These abilities feel unconnected.
Dragon Blood with a tribal component is fine, even flavorful. The damage clause is extraneous.
So much text without a lot to show for it.
Suggestion: "You gain 3 life plus 3 life for each card named ~ in your graveyard. Draw a card."
Simple straightforward common.
The distinguishing criteria to differentiate blue "looting" and red "rumaging" is that blue draws first, then discards, while red discards first, then draws.
Since caring about instants/sorceries is not a distinction between blue and red this card reads as a blue card printed in the wrong color.
Suggestion: "As an additional cost to cast ~, discard two cards or discard an instant or sorcery card. Draw three cards."
Smaller size certainly helps this design. Also "Activate this ability only once each turn."?
Easily.
First strike is not in green though, so unless you keep this a reprint of good ol' Root Spider, how about you instead go with a better designed Spider altogether e. g. Ember Weaver or Netcaster Spider or something new altogether?
Nope. The text is good as it is. Having each copy trigger each other copy just gives rise to unwanted complexity.
