Mmm. That was my thought too. It's an interesting choice, but it shouldn't really matter. When your ultimate goes off you should either be winning the game, or struggling to survive. I don't think many players would be thankful for the options in either of those scenarios.
Otherwise, I like the card. The Melvin in me is a little sad that you don't have "Something loses 3, you gain 3" in the ultimate, though. By the time I read the ultimate, I half expected to see that, and was... well, it's a silly mind trick. I think I liked the ultimate less just because it didn't follow the pattern.
The emblem could probably have both effects. It is the ultimate of a gold 'walker.
Not sure about the ultimate here it's a riff on Grim Feast, combos well with his other abilities.
but I felt it waqs a bit TOO similar to various black planeswalkers already out there.
Was originally "Exile all creatures. For each creature exiled in this way, put a creature card from any graveyard onto the battlefield under your control." which is quite
Yeah, that seems better to me. The asymmetry is unfortunate but feels kinda excusable: something like "black = drain 1, green = gain 1".
Changed it up so the target only loses 1 life, that way there is a 3 life swing just as in Dark Heart of the Wood.
A bit better at instant wins if it lands when you have 10 swamps. Or rather fewer if you've dealt any damage to the opponent in the preceding 11 turns.
