  I could see this being printed as a rare. Yes, it does encourage you to use a piece of paper and write down the abilities, but it has a lot of resonance (it's a two-person team, one is good attacking, one is good defending, etc.). Maybe in a real set at least the abilities would be the same.

  The alternative was to make this the 3/1 that put the 2/3 when it entered. But it felt a bit biased towards one of them, and it didn't let me stress the "one attacks, one defends" thing with the color difference.

  Oh, well, at least, as you said, I don't make these be played without the appropiate tokens available.

  Um. Yuck. This might be okay if you'll always have your custom tokens to hand whenever this cube is played, I guess. There's certainly no way this would ever be printed in a normal set, because just imagine the pain of people using pennies or scraps of paper.

  I do like what you're doing with things like this and Shatterstorm. Hybrid reprints that are perfectly in-pie in both colours just feel satisfying.
