Buffings all your creatures for +3/+3 seems geared towards
which this is lacking. It's weird to say the least that this would be mythic, but a card such as Titanic Ultimatum that was made in a block that specifically introduced the mythic rarity is merely a rare.
The effect is too big for uncommon. But to be mythic it needs to be splashy, and this certainly ain't splashy. It's a solid rare (that should probably cost 1 more mana)
Yeah; this is a combat finisher. Either "I got enough through, so splat" or "I smoosh your creatures, and splat you next turn"
It's a perfectly good card; but there doesn't seem to be anything on it that you can't do at uncommon.
yikes!
also is it worth mentioning that kavu climber and shaman of spring have a linear thing going on, where it is a 5 for a 3/3 that cantrips, and 4 for a 2/2 that cantrips... then we break that with visionary which is a whole 1 less for a 1/1, now we have 2 for 1/1 that cantrips. not to mention it's elf which is a very relevant creature type.
just a thought, this should cost 5
Since when is Kavu Climber cheaper than Shaman of Spring?
I would be careful with "each of those" on this card. Is "each of those" supposed to be each of "all creatures" or only each creature that actually got untapped? It's probably better to say repeat "each creature you control" on this card.
ok, will nerf
Yeah, wayyy too efficient - even without haste. While not stellar, Rummaging Goblin is the supposed baseline for a rummager. Mad Prophet is another card to compare this to. Also, this is actually way better than either of those two cards since it doesn't require you to discard the card as a cost - the discarding is part of the effect instead. Meaning that this card just net you +1 card each time you tap it while you don't have any cards in hand.
is target necessary here? Could just be shortened to untap up to three Islands.
I don't think it's a huge worry about being basic. I'm quite sure (though i get confused by lands a lot) that most powerful lands (that aren't duals or anything like that) don't have subtypes. Tolarian Academy is just a land, so it should all be fine being limited to Islands. Yes this can untap the original dual lands, but if you have those, well, good for you
i am slightly concerend about 'free' card draw. The card is rather strong. maybe it could say just basics. Or just islands, even better. I will try that, see if it works.
maybe Untap up to three basic lands would make this much more reasonable in all situations?
Then again Gift of Paradise and the like exist..
would adding nonenchanted be going too far?
The cards with this effect were horribly broken. But that is mainly because Tolarian Academy was around at the same time.
In an environment with only sane lands; it's probably OK. I mean, drawing and casting this card is almost identical to not having it in your deck, drawnig a different card, and not casting it yet.
How about: Draw a card, then you may untap a number of lands less than or equal to the cards CMC?
I like it
cost less, and grabs things differently
I think the p/t idea works well. Perhaps I can rework the card to fit into white. It would be rather punishing on
to lose it's only 'fuel' spell. The archetype is fast and needs juice!
maybe drawing cards, with a different twist. :|
perhaps, i could make it
for a 2/1 or 3/1 which dies to drain for 3?
This is
brutalize right? So if this is a Whendies effect, it should probs be triggered by combat I'd assume? Or hitting a player.
Honestly how it is you could make it a 3/2 or 3/1 and make it common.
There are a lot of ways to take it, but I think whatever fits best on the macro and micro is ideal
Would the clause for basic-lands only be better do you guys think? or would that not solve a sufficient number of problems
What's something that shouts epiphany, but fits here. hmmm...
Yea that would be a lot more fitting for the archtype, mechanically. gathering soldiers is better flavorly written like that too
I like how you include references to each god early on establishing the return even in functional reprints with generic names.
It would also potentially achieve the mentioned goal of the
pair getting a card advantage spell - for better or worse. I think I like the idea.
This is Commune with Nature, right? Not unthinkable in white, just... not exactly carrying white's torch.
I really would like this if it said "up to two creature cards with cmc/power 3/2 or less". Would fill out the mana cost/rarity better and put itself into the color in one swoop. It also usually fits the red-white aggressive weenie strategy so would actually create card advantage there.
Really, the reaason Rewind and Unwind work are that they are reactive spells and hence can be in a cost range very realtable to the spell without the untap clause.
Comparing this with a sorcery speed spell that just draws a card arguably you added almost the whole mana cost on that spell. This isn't a card draw spell featuring the "free" mechanic, this is an "Untap stuff" spell that also cantrips. And the "Untap multiple lands" spell here is not something you are going to use fairly.
This way this is also situated terribly at common. This isn't a Limited card. This is a card someone tries to break in Constructed.
