Savage Mechanics

The mechanic is supposed to appear in {r}{g}. The primary use will be on the cards pertaining to the orcs in the set. The orcs are tribal warriors that are stirred by an invasion of a superior force and overwhelm the dwarven defenders with greater numbers and ferocity in battle.

I'm not so certain on how to make the Savage mechanic. I'm trying hard to not be influenced too much by Bloodrush. I feel a mechanic involving lands, attacking and big power may be good though. The Orcs (who will be the main party represented by the mechanic - with maybe some wild beast thrown in).

 Riot

 C
Creature – Orc Warrior
Riot 1 (Whenever this creature attacks, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)
1/1

I also consider a simple attack trigger called Riot - which is an even more stripped down rampage variant:

 C
Creature – Orc Berserker
First strike (This creature deals combat damage before creatures without first strike.)
Riot 1 (Whenever this creature attacks, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)
2/2
 U
Creature – Elephant
Trample (This creature can deal excess combat damage to defending player or planeswalker while attacking.)
Riot 3 (Whenever this creature attacks, it gets +3/+3 until end of turn.)
3/3

 Roar

 C
Creature – Orc Warrior
Ironclaw Warrior attacks each turn if able.
Roar 1 — {r} ({r}, Exile this card from your hand until end of turn: Put one +1/+1 counters on target creature that entered the battlefield this turn.)
2/2

As a form of splice for creatures and something that could very well on most beast-like animals of the set - Roar is a reverse amplify.

I use an updated reminder text that uses more recent templating technology to save a lot of space in the text box. This also changes some timing, though technically that wouldn't be necessary.

 C
Creature – Ogre Mercenary
Roar 2 — {2}{r} ({2}{r}, Exile this card from your hand until end of turn: Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature that entered the battlefield this turn.)
2/2
 U
Creature – Elephant
Trample (This creature can deal excess combat damage to defending player or planeswalker while attacking.)
Roar 3 — {3}{g} ({3}{g}, Exile this card from your hand until end of turn: Put three +1/+1 counters on target creature that entered the battlefield this turn.)
3/3

Roar vesion 2, Horde, and Uprising:

 C
Creature – Elephant
Trample
Roar 2 — {1}{g} (Whenever another creature ETBs under your control, you may pay {1}{g}. If you do, put two +1/+1 counters on that creature.)
3/3

All three are based on the original mechanic

 C
Creature – Elephant
Trample
Horde 1 — {1}{g} (As you cast a creature spell, you may pay {1}{g} and reveal this from your hand. If you do, that creature enters the battlefield with one additional +1/+1 counters on it.)
3/3
 C
Creature – Elephant
Trample
Uprising {3}{g} (You may have this creature attack from your hand if you pay {3}{g} and put this onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. An uprising must result in you attacking with three or more creatures.)
3/3

 Merciless (rejected)

 C
Creature – Orc Warrior
First strike (This creature deals combat damage before creatures without first strike.)
Merciless — As long as an opponent controls no creatures, damage can't be prevented.
2/2

Merciless is an idea that represents superior numbers.

It's an ability word that turns on if an opponent controls no creatures. It has been rejected for being a punishing win-more mechanic.

 C
Creature – Ogre Mercenary
Merciless — Whenever Gray Ogre attacks, if an opponent controls no creatures, Gray Ogre deals 2 damage to the defending player.
2/2
 U
Creature – Elephant
Trample
Merciless — At the beginning of your upkeep, if an opponent controls no creatures, put a +1/+1 counter on War Mammoth.
3/3

 Exodus

 C
Creature – Orc Berserker
Haste
Exodus — When Blackcleave Berserker enters the battlefied, if another creature entered the battlefield this turn, creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn.
1/1

Exodus revolves around many creatures pouring onto the battlefield.

Better name: Invasion?

 C
Creature – Ogre Mercenary
Exodus — When Gray Ogre enters the battlefied, if another creature entered the battlefield this turn, put two +1/+1 counters on Gray Ogre.
2/2
 C
Creature – Elephant
Trample
Exodus — When War Mammoth enters the battlefield, if another creature entered the battlefield this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature that entered the battlefield this turn.
