attempt at making a more versatile shatter. Was going to go with "Destroy target artifact, ~ deals 1 damage to its controller" but that still requires them to have an artifact to start with. Whilst less elegant wordwise, this version is always useful as you target the player, do the damage and can then destroy an artifact as an optional effect.
Chose this over Hammer of Bogardan because it is less punishing on your mana base. Hammer you have to pay the in your upkeep and then pay its casting cost to use it that's 8 mana to reuse it after first being cast. This at least is all optional, true you can only recast it if your creature gets through to hit a player in combat which is a harder trigger than start of upkeep by far but, when it does it only costs you 5 to recast and, as the ruling says, each damage step (first strike and regular) will cause this to trigger, meaning that, if you just happen to have 10 mana laying around, you can use it twice.
Was a big fan of the hammer back in the day and can remember how often you would hear "Stop, Hammer Time!" at the play tables (damn you MC Hammer). Whilst not always useful, this is a good backup trick.
