The easy solution is always to just only put it on permanents - haunting creatures are quite flavorful by themselves.
Yeah, right now this dude is mostly an additional Forest for (so I'd rather play a Forest) or a creature that doesn't compete well with moth things that could be cheated.
This card should have some play-value by itself.
Haunt caused a lot of problems the first time. I like it, but you should make sure everything with it works the same way (i.e. only permanents or only non-permanents)
Haunt could be an interesting mechanic for the black tribe.

I agree with you. Might have misnamed it. Apostles ARE the white priests too in the set. Blue will probably have Adepts and in this case, Sage.
"Immortal Apostle" sounds like such a white cardname.

Remember that "becoming an enchantment" means this is not a creature anymore.
If the only way to get this in play is to cheat it; why both playing with it rather than something much bigger?

I am still looking for an alternative to Corrupted. I am also moving the Pilgrims away from being heavily White so there will be more space for Serena and her crowd.
For the red theme, there is a heavy focus on "Knowledge at a cost" so scry makes its apparition quick heavily.
For the green theme, I am still undecided on whether I will be going with a Panglacial Wurm style of effect (from the library) or effects when you reveal a card but the second idea would work well with this card (and other similar cards I could create)
