Random Generator gave me Spore Flower and Dauthi Ghoul. Originally gave +1/+1 counters, but removing three of them would be a very sad thing, so switched to spore counters. Occasional free fogs is painful enough, after all.

Also, it's difficult to line up The Treetop running ability with Shadow, since the end result looks a lot like High Flying... Kind of not the point. We'll just have to go with something a little watered down. I'd love to make those first two lines one line, but it is a bit confusing, and people would probably forget that this guy can't block.

Why the Treetop-ness?

Also, it looks like this would be seriously hard to trigger. 90% of the time this is just a 1/1 that's faintly hard to block. Getting 3 Saprolings to die without this dying itself seems a somewhat unusual circumstance.

Fair enough. The problem is that it is so fragile, couple with the fact that it does not make any saprolings on it's own.

I suppose the best way to deal with this is to cut the Shadow/Treetop part. It's a good switch out to me, but it just takes up too many words. Pity, they haven't keyworded Treetop, yet, but that would probably be a bad thing. There's still some of the Ghoul left in there due to trigger and 1/1 stats. Let's see what else I can do...

I don't mind the creature itself being fragile, since the ability to fog semi-regularly should come with some sort of out. Also, funny that the name still hints at what the card used to do. Velvet Top Fungus is a real world fungus that perches on top of trees... I looked it up.
