This is a strictly worse Batterhorn and that card is already quite bad. Mentioning CMC is red-flag bait as well so you would be better of without that CMC restriction for multiple reasons.

Dunno; I can see the "Only eat cheap things" being an interesting variation. But yeah, it could stand to be a mana or two cheaper.
